Cycle Gear Santa Rosa no longer mounting tires UPDATED

Postby rctree » June 29th, 2012, 6:10 pm

There has been a temporary reprieve granted. Looks like the equipment will stay through this coming weekend (7/8). So if you need tires mounted / balanced, do it quick.

Friday (today) is the last day Cycle Gear Santa Rosa will be mounting and balancing tires. We are one of 8 stores that is part of a pilot project to see how it effects business. This is a 6 month experiment. As with most things, there are pluses and minuses. If it works out, all stores will go this way. If not, the service will come back Until then, all of the equipment and supplies will be placed in storage - not sold off.

We will still be inventorying the same tires & perhaps more with lower prices. Tires will be kept in what is now the tire changing room. This move will allow us to expand other product lines.

We are compiling a list of businesses / people that have the ability to do this work. Let me or Chris (store manager) know if you would like to be on it. Just need to get contact info and prices.

I will keep you posted on how it works out.

Every time I'm in there someone is back there changing tires. Just seems like lost revenue to me. Oh well, back to doing it myself.
It's a 'tard thang

That stinks but it's a business decision like all other things. Oh joy SR gets to be one of the pilot stores....would be great if the SR store could relocate to a larger site and expand. Guess we don't quite have the market for that.
Still suffering from A.D..............Did you see that motorcycle?

The store in Dublin is bigger, but still crammed full of merchandise. They most certainly believe in narrow isles.

I always said that was a losing proposition for them.

It sucks for the employees, too. CG corporate is so intent on everyone hitting their "goal", that spending an hour changing rubber puts you at risk of falling short of the goal and getting written up.
