Speed Metal HID kit

Postby Jim » May 20th, 2012, 6:28 pm

So after my spending spree on eBay when I got the settlement check for the bike, I was interested in an HID set up for the bike. I don't do much night riding so I thought I'd just go for the low bean replacement to start. I got the HID kit from Cycle Gear (sorry Rob, it was the last day of the sale and you were off) after one guy said they didn't make it and then Chris said they did and it was in stock.

I started installing it and the first guy is right, sort of, in that the kit is not plug and play but the bulb is correct. So I altered the kit as I didn't want to screw up the stock wiring and it seems to be working great. I have yet to try it on the street but will be doing so as soon as it gets dark.

I took some similar angle/lighting pics with the halogens and the HID. Bear in mind that the halogens are not stock either. The coloring is different and it doesn't look any brighter in the photos but in person it looks brighter.

Will follow up after a night try.

FYI, I can sell you (all) stuff at the sale price even after it has ended for a "reasonable" amount of time - about a week or so. Let me know what you think of it. We have had good reports so far.

If the price is still available, I might just want to go with the high beam set up too!
